• Jim Ross Got Hurt 2 Days Before His Return At AEW All In: Texas
During the recent AEW All In weekend in Texas, legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross suffered a fall inside his hotel room. The WWE Hall of Famer opened up about the incident on his Grilling JR podcast, describing the challenges he faced afterward. The accident occurred late on Thursday night, shortly before the highly anticipated PPV weekend. Ross found himself in a difficult situation as he had accidentally left his phone in an Uber, leaving him unable to contact anyone for help after the fall. “I didn’t have any way of communicating with anybody,” he said.
Though he avoided broken bones, JR admitted the fall was serious. “I had a hell of a fall and soft tissue, I didn’t break anything, I don’t think,” he recalled. Left alone in his room, Jim was forced to manage the pain on his own. “I just went to bed. And it was challenging.”
The aftermath of the fall continued to affect Ross days later. He shared, “I’m still sore as hell. The older you get, the slower you heal. And that’s kind of my situation right now, just slow to heal.” Despite the pain, he remained positive, saying, “I’ll make it. I’ll be alright. It’s not the first time that’s happened to me.”
Remarkably, only two days after the fall, JR returned to his duties at AEW All In on Saturday, July 12. The Texas crowd gave him a warm ovation as he took his place on commentary for the event’s two main matches.
• WWE Personality Rips Goldberg For Complaining About Retirement Speech
Bill Goldberg’s recent frustration with how his WWE send-off aired didn’t sit well with Peter Rosenberg, and the WWE broadcaster made that crystal clear in a new video response. Reacting to Goldberg’s comments from The Ariel Helwani Show, Rosenberg questioned why someone with such a celebrated career would be upset over something as predictable as a TV cutoff. “NBC goes when the show ends, every single time,” he explained. “They do not wait. NBC. This is network TV. It’s not USA, it’s not Netflix. It’s NBC. They go when they go.”
Rosenberg, known for his role on WWE’s kickoff panels, didn’t stop there. He directly addressed Goldberg’s reaction to his farewell speech being cut at the end of Saturday Night’s Main Event, where the former champion gave what was billed as his final appearance. “He still got in a nice little moment and got to be celebrated,” Rosenberg said.
The segment aired live on NBC on July 12 after Goldberg lost to Gunther in the main event. While fans watching on TV didn’t see the full speech, WWE later shared the complete footage on YouTube.
Still, Rosenberg wasn’t moved by Goldberg’s complaints. He argued that Goldberg received more airtime and ceremony than many others, despite not being in top form. “The man’s pushing 60 years old, hasn’t looked good in the ring, some would say ever, but certainly not in the last few years,” he said. “The man got a 15-minute match. It should have been a squash, let’s be honest.”
He went on to say Bill Goldberg got more than he earned in that match against the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. “He should have gotten Goldberg’ed,” Rosenberg added. “He should have been speared and taken out.”
For Peter Rosenberg, the fact that Goldberg even got to say anything on national television put him ahead of countless others who’ve been quietly released. “Do you know how many people better than Goldberg, their send-off was ‘we wish them the best in their future endeavors?’” he asked. “Did this guy get to stand in the ring on national television? Have a send-off? You should be thanking your lucky stars for the money you’ve made and the appreciation you’ve gotten, which many don’t even feel is fully deserved. To complain, I’m so disappointed.”
I respect Goldberg and he seems like a decent man but WTF was he thinking man? He has been collecting check after check against top guys and putting on mediocre matches … and gets a hell of a send off. And then complains?? I'm lost pic.twitter.com/UCUlIipdQe
