In an explosive statement on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Bubba the Love Sponge placed blame squarely on Hulk Hogan’s handlers, claiming they ignored doctors’ advice and pushed Hogan too hard after a major surgery – possibly costing him his life. “If Hogan had listened to his doctors, we’d probably still have Terry with us today,” Bubba said. He revealed that Hogan had undergone a serious “stage four cervical surgery” and was instructed to rest for 4 to 6 weeks.
Instead, Bubba said, “24 to 36 hours after this major, major surgery, he’s out canvasing across America doing the beer deal, doing the shoot-style wrestling stuff.” Bubba didn’t hold back in criticizing others who denied Hogan’s worsening health. “I got so much heat and so much hate and so much vitriol for telling the truth when… all these people flat out lied. They flat out lied about his condition.”
He praised Vince Russo, who was also on the panel, for believing him. “That guy right there is the only dude that believed me when six or seven weeks ago, I was getting reports that he wasn’t doing good, that he was potentially on his deathbed.”
Bubba’s emotional frustration was clear: “I say that out of my grieving for my former best friend. I just wish he would have slowed down.”
He said financial pressures from business partners likely played a role. “He has all these people that are pulling at him… probably have tens of millions of dollars invested.”
Darren Prince, Hogan’s longtime agent and friend, echoed the concern. “I represent a lot of global icons… it’s their competitive nature. Once they’re out of the spotlight, they always find something in the world of business to just go 150 miles an hour.”
Though Darren emphasized he wasn’t there to point fingers – “Only God knows when our time is up” – he acknowledged that Hogan’s drive to keep going may have pushed his body past its limits.
Together, their testimony painted a sobering picture of a man who gave too much and rested too little – and paid the ultimate price for it.
