Karrion Kross’ Momentum Mirrors Steve Austin’s, Says WWE Hall of Famer

On The Ariel Helwani Show, Paul Heyman talked about the electric momentum building behind Karrion Kross as something WWE hasn’t seen since Stone Cold Steve Austin’s peak rise. Heyman praised how the fans are taking ownership of Kross’ ascent – chants of “We want Kross,” arena signs, and merchandise sales are all being driven by live crowd enthusiasm. He emphasized that the audience, not WWE creative, is propelling his stardom forward.

He pointed out that fans are demanding Kross become a bigger star, just like they did with Steve Austin, when chants, signs, and merch sales fueled Austin’s legendary rise in the Attitude Era.

Heyman also drew parallels to Daniel Bryan and CM Punk – wrestlers whose popularity surged organically through fan support rather than corporate push – but with Kross, the momentum feels fresh and potent.

Karrion Kross & Scarlett Moved To WWE’s Alumni Section

Karrion Kross and Scarlett have been moved to WWE’s alumni section after their contracts expired. PWInsider reported that they were offered new deals earlier this week.

Fightful Select noted that Kross and Scarlett will be answering questions about this in the next few days. They also noted that this situation could be a work to get Kross over even more.

The Wrestling Observer reported a few days back that they don’t expect Kross to leave WWE:

“I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract. I heard that that is legit, but that he did get an offer. The story that he didn’t get an offer, and maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written, it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer. I don’t expect him going anywhere.”

The report also suggested that the contract drama might be a creative angle. The buzz and fan support, such as chants of ‘We Want Kross’, could be building momentum for a bigger push.

WWE’s promotion of Kross’ memoir ‘Life is Fighting’ backs up this theory, since it wouldn’t make sense to heavily promote someone about to leave.
