• 2 Ex-AEW Wrestlers Expected To Join WWE Soon

The tag team of Vincent and Dutch, known collectively as The Righteous, may soon be making their way back to a major stage. Fightful Select reports that the duo has begun wrapping up independent bookings, fueling speculation that a WWE deal could be imminent.

This isn’t the first time the group’s name has surfaced in WWE discussions. Back in December 2022, the team took part in a special tryout that featured only independent wrestlers. While there was early interest, the timing coincided with Vince McMahon’s unexpected return to corporate control, which led to a company-wide hiring freeze. As a result, no signings took place, and The Righteous were left waiting.

After their WWE opportunity stalled, the duo went on to join AEW/ROH, where they were managed by WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts. They gained national exposure in All Elite Wrestling, before eventually securing their release earlier this year. That exit has now reopened the door for a WWE move, particularly with interest inside the company said to be stronger than before.

The Righteous have had influential advocates on their side. The late Bray Wyatt was reportedly eager to work with the duo and voiced support for them following their 2022 tryout. More recently, Elijah (formerly Elias) collaborated with them in vignettes, further raising their profile within the WWE system.

While no official contract has been announced, indications suggest momentum is building for WWE to bring in Vincent and Dutch. With independent dates winding down, the stage appears set for the team to possibly debut in WWE sooner rather than later.

• Ric Flair Reveals The Only WWE Star Who Is Close To Charlotte Flair’s Level

During an interview with The Escapist Magazine, Ric Flair once again claimed that his daughter, current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair, is the best wrestler in the world.

Flair went on to say that the only wrestler on the WWE roster that is close to Charlotte’s level is his Evolution stablemate, Randy Orton.

Here’s what The Nature Boy said:

“The only person who I think is close to her, when he is on and healthy, when you think about in ring timing and knowing where you are all the time, is Randy Orton.”

• Drake Says Top WWE Star Is His Muse

Drake unexpectedly singled out WWE superstar Rhea Ripley as his creative inspiration during a recent podcast appearance, rubbing elbows with wrestling and social media fandoms alike.

Appearing on influencer Bobbi Althoff’s popular podcast, Drake revealed that his social media content is heavily populated by images of Ripley, calling her his “muse” and a celebrity crush. The comment sparked immediate fascination among fans, especially as Drake jokingly noted that Ripley probably wouldn’t be attracted to someone like him.

“My FYP page is just all Rhea Ripley. She’s a wrestler, she’s like my muse but she’s… I’m the opposite of everything that she likes.”

The mention wasn’t entirely out of the blue: earlier this year, observant WWE fans noted that Drake had liked one of Ripley’s mirror selfies – adding further intrigue to his recent comments.

Meanwhile, Ripley herself has been in the headlines due to a concerning fan interaction. During a public appearance, she was mobbed by a group of fans while trying to access an Uber. The crowding left Ripley visibly shaken, prompting her to call on fans to show “common courtesy and humanity” when encountering performers in public spaces.

• WWE Has Major Plans For Wrestlepalooza

WWE will stage Wrestlepalooza on September 20 in Indianapolis, marking the company’s first Premium Live Event to air on ESPN. The broadcast is being positioned as a flagship-style presentation, with the lineup expected to feature major names, storyline conclusions, and potentially the return of a former champion.

When WWE launches on a new broadcast partner, the company has historically treated the first event as a high-profile showcase rather than a standard stop on the calendar. Remember: first impression is the last impression. SmackDown’s premiere on FOX in October 2019 and the transition of RAW to Netflix in January 2025 followed this model. Wrestlepalooza is being prepared in a similar fashion, with attention on delivering memorable moments that will showcase the brand to a new audience.

Behind the scenes, discussion has centered on the possible involvement of former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee, whose return would connect directly to the ongoing storyline between CM Punk and Seth Rollins. This rivalry intensified at Clash In Paris, particularly after Becky Lynch’s alliance with Rollins, creating a scenario where Lee’s reemergence could carry significant impact.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Wrestlepalooza is expected to be a major PLE:

– Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena is rumored to main event

– Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship is rumored to be the co-main event

– AJ Lee is rumored to make her return after 10 years for this PLE

– The Usos vs. The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed) was teased last night on RAW

– IYO SKY vs. Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women’s World Championship has already been announced
