• CM Punk Shows Support for New NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani
Zohran Mamdani was elected as the next mayor of New York City on Tuesday, becoming the first Indian American to hold the position and one of the youngest mayors in the city’s history at 34. He will officially assume office on January 1, 2026.
WWE’s World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, who has often spoken about social issues and progressive politics, publicly endorsed Mamdani’s historic victory.
The Best In The World shared the following statement from the Chicago Teachers Union on his Instagram story:
“Two years ago, a multiracial, multiethnic, and multigenerational movement of everyday voters elected a middle school teacher—the son of Black migrants who utilized the Greenbook to escape the horrors of Mississippi’s fascist Jim Crow Laws—to lead the city of Chicago. And tonight, in New York City, that same powerful coalition of working-class people has done it again—this time electing the son of an immigrant, Zohran Mamdani, as the next mayor of the largest city in the country.
Running on a platform rooted in the realities of working families, including lowering the cost of living, expanding affordable housing, and uplifting the poor, Mamdani’s success is a clear signal of what’s possible when candidates center the lived experiences of the people they serve instead of the billionaire class. It shows what happens when politics is no longer just about power, but about purpose.
More than just bold policies that make the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share, Mamdani’s campaign modeled a new path forward for both the country and the Democratic Party. Rather than merely talking about Black, Latine, LGBTQIA+, and immigrant voters, his campaign showed up by listening and building trust and power. They didn’t just ask for votes; they built a movement that honors the needs of low-income and poor families.”

• WWE Fires Ridge Holland Over Recent Posts
Ridge Holland’s WWE contract was set to expire on November 14, but the company has reportedly released him 9 days early following a series of social media posts criticizing his treatment while injured.
According to Fightful Select, WWE officials viewed Holland’s recent posts as a breach of his talent contract, leading to his early release. He was told that he won’t get paid for the remaining period.
The former NXT Tag Team Champion underwent surgery for a Lisfranc injury he suffered while working a match against Moose at a TNA taping in September. Holland had been representing WWE under the ongoing partnership between the two promotions.
The 37-year-old’s one-year extension signed last year came with a $200,000 pay cut, bringing his salary down to an “NXT-level” deal. Despite appearing on TNA programming, he did not receive any additional payment from WWE.
While the company is covering the costs of his surgery and rehabilitation, Holland was told he would not be paid during his recovery after his contract expires. Frustrated by the situation, he took to social media and said that he was struggling financially and felt abandoned by the company after getting hurt while representing them.
He expressed disappointment, calling the situation “brutal” and saying he felt “hung out to dry.”
Holland took to X on Tuesday to announce that he is now available for media and signing appearances. He is scheduled to appear at Game Changer Wrestling’s Fan Slam event on November 22.
