A Connecticut judge has ordered a doctor linked to Vince McMahon to give up payment records showing how McMahon paid for the medical bills of former WWE employee Janel Grant. This ruling is the newest step in Grant’s legal action against the doctor.
The judge, David Bothwell, made the order after Dr. Carlon Colker’s lawyer said that the records Grant asked for might not even exist. Colker’s lawyer did admit that McMahon, who was also a patient at Colker’s clinic (Peak Wellness), paid Grant’s medical bills using his credit card. The judge was not happy that the payment proof had not been turned over.
According to Post Wrestling, Judge Bothwell questioned the doctor’s lawyer, asking: “If you’re admitting that Vince McMahon paid her medical bills, then show them how Vince McMahon paid the medical bills. I ordered that.” The judge added that it was hard to believe a doctor would keep billing records without noting who paid the bills, especially for a wealthy man like McMahon, saying there “should probably be a paper trail.”
Grant first filed her legal action to get evidence for a possible lawsuit against the doctor, where she claims McMahon sent her to Colker’s clinic for treatment and was given unknown supplements. Grant has a separate federal lawsuit against McMahon and WWE, where she claims $exual assault and trafficking, which McMahon denies.
The judge ordered the doctor to follow the order and deliver the payment records within 35 days.
