• John Cena Sparks Backlash After Comments About Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon’s final years in WWE were plagued by controversy. Fans criticized his booking decisions, while backstage, many employees struggled with his unpredictable behavior. His departure in 2022 came after a hush money scandal, and the situation worsened when former employee Janel Grant filed a $ex trafficking lawsuit against him.

While many wrestlers who worked with McMahon have maintained relationships with him, a large portion of the WWE fanbase has been unforgiving.

Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience, John Cena shared his perspective on forgiveness and accountability, hinting at a complicated balance between respecting McMahon’s role in his career and acknowledging the serious allegations against him.

“I’d like to think that time heals everything and I believe in forgiveness. I also believe in looking at the body of work, but I also know there is a lot of fragile stuff going on there.

I’ve learned to become a little more accountable for what I say, and just because I feel a certain way about a person doesn’t exonerate them from being accountable for their actions.

Just because he did start ‘all this gangster sh*t,’ that doesn’t mean he doesn’t need to be accountable for his actions. So, let’s figure out what that means, and then figure out if we can move forward and bring that back in the fold or if that stays the way it is.”

The 17-time World Champion clearly has a soft spot for McMahon, acknowledging the former WWE Chairman’s pivotal role in his legendary career.

However, Cena’s comments have sparked backlash from fans on social media, many of whom feel the GOAT is being too lenient given McMahon’s controversies.

• Why Paul Heyman Is Pushing For Austin Theory To Join The Vision

At this year’s WWE Survivor Series, The Vision (Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul), Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre secured a huge victory over World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and The Usos in the Men’s WarGames match.

The finish saw a mysterious hooded figure, rumored to be Austin Theory, enter the cage and hit Punk with a superkick followed by a Curb Stomp, setting up Bron Breakker to deliver a Spear and seal the win.

Austin Theory had been rumored to join The Vision by helping Seth Rollins retain the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event last month. Those plans fell through after Rollins suffered a shoulder injury at Crown Jewel, leading to Punk defeating Jey Uso for the vacant title instead.

There were also talks internally about Theory joining Rollins, Lesnar, Breakker, and Bronson Reed for this year’s Men’s WarGames match, but WWE had to shuffle the lineup due to Rollins’ injury.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Paul Heyman has been pushing for Theory to join The Vision. The idea is to give Theory a major push while also protecting stars like Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed from taking pins too often.
