• Top WWE Star Thought He Was Headlining WrestleMania 42 Before Plans Changed
As of about one month ago (early February), Drew McIntyre still believed he would be in the Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 42, according to Self Made Pro. Back then, plans pointed to him defending the title at the Show of Shows in April in Las Vegas.
WWE switched direction: Cody Rhodes won the title from McIntyre on the March 6th episode of SmackDown. Now, Cody Rhodes will defend the championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42. Drew McIntyre is expected to face Jacob Fatu instead.
This shift came after months of back-and-forth creative talks, including an earlier idea for Rhodes vs. McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match for the title at WrestleMania, according to PWInsider.
McIntyre had been champion and heavily featured, but the company chose to go with the Rhodes-Orton story for the main event spot.
• Current Plan For Brock Lesnar At WrestleMania 42
While some fans are hoping to see a dream match between Gunther and Brock Lesnar, it looks like WWE has a different opponent in mind for The Beast.
According to PWInsider, the current plan for WrestleMania 42 is for Oba Femi to be the one to face Lesnar. Most people within the company say that while Gunther is a popular suggestion among fans, he isn’t actually being considered for that spot right now. Instead, the focus is squarely on Femi.
During the Men’s Royal Rumble match, The Beast eliminated The Ruler. Brock has issued an open challenge for the Show of Shows. Lesnar is set to appear on next week’s RAW. Oba defeated Rusev on this week’s RAW.

• Sad News For AJ Lee Fans
AJ Lee recently won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship by defeating Becky Lynch at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026. This is her first singles title in over 11 years. Her win came via submission with the Black Widow hold in Chicago, her adopted hometown.
On RAW after Elimination Chamber, she celebrated as a fighting champion and promised regular defenses. However, Self Made Pro reports that her reign will be short and transitional. The belt is expected to move off her program soon.
On this week’s RAW, a Gauntlet Match decided the next challenger. Bayley won it by last eliminating Asuka, earning a title shot against AJ on next week’s RAW.
