• Top WWE Star Bonded Ludwig Kaiser Out Of Jail
Gunther proved he is a true friend outside the ring by stepping up to bail out his former teammate, Ludwig Kaiser, following Kaiser’s recent arrest.
Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, is currently facing a misdemeanor battery charge in Orange County, Florida, after turning himself in on May 19. Court records revealed that Gunther, listed under his real name Walter Hahn, was the person who officially bonded Kaiser out of jail for $1,000.
The two wrestlers share a deep bond that goes back way before their time together in WWE’s Imperium faction, having trained and wrestled together across Germany and Austria since the 2000s.
As the legal process moves forward, some crucial dates have now been set for the case. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, in Orlando. This meeting will give the prosecutors and Kaiser’s lawyers a chance to work out a plea bargain and avoid a full trial.
If they cannot reach an agreement in July, the court has already blocked out August 10 through August 28 as the official window for a trial to take place.
• Ex-WWE Star Curtis Axel Arrested (Photo)
Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel (son of late WWF legend “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig), whose real name is Joseph Hennig, spent a couple of days in a Minnesota jail earlier this month.
The 46-year-old was arrested in Anoka County on May 17 after allegedly crashing into property and driving away from the scene. He reportedly was at a McDonald’s drive-thru and backed right into the car behind him.
According to court records, Hennig was hit with a long list of charges, including a third-degree DUI, having an open bottle of alcohol in his vehicle, and refusing to take a breathalyzer test. He also faced a charge for obstructing the legal process during his arrest before being released from custody two days later on May 19.
