SmackDown Results – Champion Is Injured, Blake Monroe Targets Top Star, Roman Reigns’ Plan, Gunther’s Big Reveal

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown took place at Amica Mutual Pavillion in Providence, Rhode Island. Below are the complete results:

– Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes arrived to the arena and The Usos met him. Jey Uso said he’s going to win King of the Ring and then come for the WWE Title at SummerSlam, and that it’s all business. Cody said he hopes it’s Jey’s decision and not Roman’s.

– Jade Cargill vowed to win the Queen of the Ring tournament again.

– WWE announced that WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley suffered a knee injury in Italy and is currently being evaulated.

– Queen Of The Ring Tournament Match: Charlotte Flair def. Lyra Valkyria, Jade Cargill, and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca

Michin and B-Fab attacked Charlotte during the match, which led to Alexa Bliss coming out and brawling with them. When the numbers game was too much, Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton made the save. They brawled to the back.

– Chelsea Green saved Tiffany Stratton from Michin and B-Fab backstage.

– The Usos questioned why Jacob Fatu is here, because Jey Uso plans to handle business by himself tonight. Jacob said Roman Reigns sent him here to talk to Solo Sikoa.

– Blake Monroe put Charlotte Flair on notice in her latest vignette.

– Gunther informed Nick Aldis that he will pick the referee for his Undisputed WWE Title rematch.

– WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth and Damian Priest met Finn Balor backstage. R-Truth said Judgment Day is back together. Finn vowed to win King of the Ring.

– WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Paige and Brie Bella def. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid) (with Jacy Jayne) in a non-title match

– Sami Zayn told Johnny Gargano that he is thinking about clearing the air with Cody Rhodes.

– After The Miz, Kit Wilson also got shocked in Danhausen’s room.

– Cody Rhodes told Sami Zayn that he sucks. Cody said Sami is desperate to have the WWE Championship, which he’ll never have. Sami slapped Cody. Sami apologized, but Cody slapped Sami back. Sami wanted to hit Cody with a steel chair, but stopped.

– Jacob Fatu met Solo Sikoa and said Roman Reigns wants Solo to come home. Solo said Jacob can tell Roman to go to hell. Solo addressed Jacob’s downfall and how Roman treats Jacob like a dog, and said that is not how you treat someone you love. Fatu said he made his choice and he will do what The OTC asks him to do. Solo said if Roman wants him back, then tell Roman to come get him.

– AAA Cruiserweight Championship Match: Rey Fenix (c) def. Axiom to retain the title

– Gunther told Nick Aldis that Sami Zayn is going to be the special guest referee for his Undisputed WWE Title rematch against Cody Rhodes on next week’s SmackDown.

– Trick Williams told Carmelo Hayes and Ricky Saints to face each other again, with the winner facing him for the United States Championship. Ricky pushed Carmelo into Trick and a brawl broke out. Trick laid out both of them.

– Solo Sikoa told Royce Keys that The Bloodline is here to help Jey Uso advance in the King of the Ring tonight. Solo said he doesn’t want Royce to help him, but he doesn’t want Royce to be a casualty tonight.

– Michin and B-Fab def. Chelsea Green and Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton

Jade Cargill attacked Tiffany during the match. After the match, Tiffany attacked the heels, but got laid out.

– Kiana James said Giulia betrayed her. Giulia slapped Kiana.

– Tama Tonga welcomed Finn Balor to SmackDown.

– Cody Rhodes told Nick Aldis that Sami Zayn is a wreck and his emotions are all over the place, which means he’s not a good fit to be a referee. Sami showed up and said he agrees with Cody, and wished Cody good luck.

– LA Knight mocked Roman Reigns for trying to bring Solo Sikoa back to The Bloodline.

– King Of The Ring Tournament Match: Jey Uso def. LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Balor

During the match, LA took out Solo Sikoa. Solo fired back by hitting Knight with a Samoan Spike. Royce hit the spinebuster on LA and was pinning him when Jey hit a splash on both of them and pinned Knight to pick up the win.

Jey Uso will now face Je’Von Evans in one of the semi-finals.
