• The Rock Puts Over Vince Russo For His Work During The Attitude Era, Russo Responds
Yesterday marked the 20 year anniversary of the “Beer Bath” segment from WWF RAW Is WAR on the road to WrestleMania XV.
During this segment, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin gave a beer bath to The Corporation. You can watch it below:
Old School WWF Legend The Rock, who was the WWF Champion during this segment, revealed on Twitter that Austin was dealing with a broken neck during this time, so they had to keep the physicality level down and save it for their WrestleMania XV main event. That’s why the WWF officials decided to book the “Beer Bath”.
My tough SOB brother @steveaustinBSR was operating here with a legit broken neck so we had to be creative with keeping our physicality to a minimum until our big WrestlemMania match.
The result was one of the most entertaining segments to ever take place on LIVE TV. ?? https://t.co/oiSdm0MIOI— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) March 22, 2019
A Twitter user then tweeted the following about WWF Attitude Era writer Vince Russo:
You know, @THEVinceRusso catches a lot of crap, but segments like these are the ones that captured my imagination as a young fan and had me tuning in each and every week. The writing. The talent. What an amazing time to be a fan. Thanks to all involved!

The Rock then responded to the above tweet and put over Russo:
Not sure why @THEVinceRusso would catch crap over this. I had a great time working with that guy. I had some crazy out of box ideas and never once did he bat an eyelash. He’d always say, “fuck yeah let’s do it”. And we did. And we killed. Always fun!

Russo then thanked “The People’s Champ” for the kind words:
Thanks for the kind words, Rock. They mean more to me than you will ever know. Keep killin' it, Bro!!!
