• After John Cena, Another Name Is Being Discussed As Edge’s Opponent For WrestleMania 36

As we noted before, PWInsider noted that Edge has signed a new deal with WWE for an in-ring return.

While Edge is denying the reports, it does looks like something big is coming for The Rated R Superstar.

Wrestlingnewsco reported that Edge is training very hard for an in-ring return and might compete in the Men’s Royal Rumble 2020 match and then go on to have a match at WrestleMania 36:

“I was told that Edge has been training hard and he’s in great shape and the feeling in WWE is that he will be back relatively soon and the prevailing rumor is that he will wrestle at WrestleMania and possibly sooner as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble.”

The Dirty Sheets then reported that WWE officials are discussing doing a final match between old rivals John Cena & Edge.

Cena has expressed his interest in having a match at WrestleMania 36.

However, WWE officials have concerns about doing Edge vs. Cena due to the ring rust factor.

In an update to this, Slice Wrestling is reporting that WWE officials have talked about the possibility of doing Edge vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 36, as WWE officials feel Rollins will be able to get a good match out of Edge at this point.

Also, Edge and Rollins have some history between them, as Rollins threatened to break Edge’s neck with the Stomp back in late 2014 and forced Cena to bring the Authority back in power.

Ok, so here goes. Looks like I’m diving headfirst into the ocean of cheesey gym selfies. No toe dipping here. Yikes. However, I decided to do this to best explain this past year, and maybe help give someone some incentive. Last fall we lost my Mom and my father in law John within a two month span. I didn’t fully grasp the emotional fallout until I looked in the mirror one day and I didn’t like what I saw. At all. I’d stopped training. I stopped dieting, to a huge degree. I just stopped…living like me. Living in the present. Stuck in that past. I was obviously in mourning. But I came to the conclusion my Mom and John wouldn’t want this, and I’d look at my girls and realize that if I want to be around for them, I needed to get off my rapidly expanding butt and get to work getting healthy. I reached out to @nutritionsolutions and got my diet dialed in. I can’t say enough about this company, they’re amazing, and this isn’t a paid endorsement. Then I started putting in the sweat equity. Slowly but surely, I started coming out of the funk. Less lethargic. I started feeling vibrant. Vital. Happy. Like me. Which makes me a better dad and partner. A better person period. I used every excuse I could to stay stuck. Injuries and everything else I already outlined. But the only way I got unstuck, was to JUST. GET. MOVING. So if this reaches even one person out there who may feel stuck, just know, you’re not alone and you can change it.

As you can see, Edge is looking more muscular than what he was back in 2011 before his retirement.
