• On This Day In Pro Wrestling History (June 2, 2003) – Old School WWF Manager Passed Away

On this day in 2003, we lost legendary Old School WWF Manager “Classy” Freddie Blassie at the age of 85.

After wrestling during the 40s, 50s, 60s & early 70s, Freddie Blassie became an on-screen manager in 1974 for Vince McMahon Sr.’s World Wide Wrestling Federation.

Among his clients were famous WWF Superstars like Hulk Hogan, The Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Hercules Hernandez and many others.

In the summer of 1986, he gave his remaining clients to the young up and coming manager Slick and slowly retired from the on-screen role of his TV character.

• Backstage News On Jason Jordan’s Status After Appearance On Last Week’s SmackDown

On last week’s episode of SmackDown, former WWE Tag Team Champion Jason Jordan appeared during the Jeff Hardy arrest segment.

Jordan is a WWE Producer now, and he was taking care of things (kayfabe wise) on-screen during that segment involving Hardy and Elias on SmackDown.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, there are no plans for Jordan’s in-ring return, as he is still dealing with grip issues related to his neck injury:

“Also on SmackDown, Jason Jordan popped up. Jason Jordan has been out of action for two and a half years with some neck issues.

He has been a producer for quite a while, one that people seem to like rather well, but no timetable on his return or if he could ever return.

Last I heard in the Summer of last year, he was having grip issues and there were no plans for him to come back.”

Jordan underwent neck surgery back in February 2018 and has been out of action since then.
