According to Fightful Select, Cole has been cleared to return to in-ring action.
Cole’s last match took place over a year ago at the All Out 2023 PPV, where he teamed up with MJF to defeat Dark Order to retain the ROH Tag Team Championship.
• Bryan Danielson lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley in the main event of the WrestleDream 2024 PPV last night.
After the match, Moxley gave Claudio Castagnoli the World Title and he put it in a bag. Moxley then took out a plastic bag, but Darby Allin and Wheeler Yuta made the save. Yuta then turned heel and took out Allin. Moxley gave Yuta the plastic bag and he put it over Bryan’s face to choke him.
Private Party and Jeff Jarrett came out to make the save, but Blackpool Combat Club took them out. BCC put a chair around Bryan’s neck and Claudio kicked it. More wrestlers came to save Bryan and BCC left.
According to Fightful Select, Bryan reportedly wanted to lose to Moxley to conclude his full-time run. Despite dealing with injuries, Danielson was cleared to compete in regular matches.
In recent interviews, Danielson’s comments about his health were accurate. He believed he should not have participated in some of the matches leading up to the WrestleDream PPV.
Additionally, Danielson has been without a talent contract for several months, making him effectively a free agent without further obligations.
Danielson is expected to undergo neck surgery soon.
