As we reported earlier, Swerve Strickland will have his first LIVE interview as AEW World Champion on this Saturday’s Collision, and this interview will kick off the show.

According to the Wrestling Observer, AEW is expecting their highest viewership of 2024 this Saturday, due to the NBA game lead-in:

“The reason AEW announced Strickland in the first segment for Saturday is because they expect their biggest quarter of the year.

There is no Inside the NBA on TNT, they go right from the Celtics-Heat game to wrestling and that will give them their biggest lead-in a long time and at 8:30 p.m., or slightly later.

Makes more sense to do something big there than on Dynamite for all the reasons we’ve talked about and written.”

AEW has announced the following for Collision so far:

– Bullet Club Gold (Jay White & The Gunns) (c) vs. Action Andretti and Top Flight for the Unified AEW World Trios Championship

– AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Anna Jay

– Grizzled Young Veterans will make their AEW debut

– Swerve Strickland’s first LIVE interview as AEW World Champion

After Collision goes off the air, AEW will air a special LIVE episode of Rampage. Below is the card:

– Trent Beretta vs. Chuck Taylor in a Parking Lot Fight

– Thunder Rosa vs. Deonna Purrazzo
