Claudio won the CMLL World Heavyweight Title on November 28, 2025. He beat Gran Guerrero in Arena Mexico to become champion. This was a big surprise because it was only his second singles match there.
He became the 23rd champion in the title’s history. The win ended Gran Guerrero’s long reign of over 1,100 days. Claudio was a fighting champion. He made several successful title defenses. Some defenses were against wrestlers like Ultimo Guerrero, Roderick Strong, and Josh Alexander, at both CMLL and AEW shows.
• Dennis Condrey Passes Away At 74
Dennis Condrey of the legendary Tag Team “The Midnight Express” passed away at the age of 74 this evening.
AEW World Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood of FTR took to Instagram to share the news. He wrote the following:
“My Friend, Dennis. GoFundMe set up in his memory in my bio.
Greatest of All Time scenarios will always be a hot button for debate. However, when it comes to greatest tag teams of all time, almost always is The Midnight Express brought up. I’ve watched my fair share of tag team matches; maybe more than anyone! I can tell you with absolute honesty and sincerity, I’ve never seen a better Tag Team than Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton.
Over the last 5 years, Dennis has allowed me the privilege of being a friend. Seeing him and His beautiful wife Theresa always made me feel like I was part of their family.
Dennis and I would text after every match I had. He would always tell me what he liked and what he felt I could work on. That is something that’ll never be lost on me. One of my heroes loved me enough to take time out of his day to let me know how proud he was of me.
I loved that man and I’ll do everything I possibly can over the next few years I have left in the business, to keep his and the Midnight Express’ spirit alive. They paved this road so all other tag teams could walk easier.
God Bless a true Pioneer of Professional Wrestling
Rest in Peace “Loverboy” Dennis Condrey.”
Condrey built a legendary career across multiple major promotions during pro wrestling’s territorial era. He competed in Jim Crockett Promotions, where The Midnight Express became one of the top Tag Teams in the NWA, and also had runs in Mid-South Wrestling, World Championship Wrestling and various regional territories.
WWF Old School extends its condolences to Dennis’ family and friends.
