Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving Powerhouse Hobbs and John Cena:
• During a recent interview on the ‘Chilling with ICE’ podcast, All Elite Wrestling Superstar Powerhouse Hobbs said the following about AEW and WWE being competitors:
“We’re on the same level as them. We’re their competitors. They’re on national TV and we’re on national TV. We go head-to-head. We’re right on them. We’ve beat them in ratings at times. We’re right there on their neck. There are two major companies in this business, and it’s WWE and AEW.
We’re right there with them. When people say, ‘Do you ever want to go to WWE?’ I tell people, we’re right there with them. If you’re watching AEW or watching WWE, I think any wrestling fan should watch all wrestling. You’re getting all types of flavors. We’re right there, on their neck.”
• John Cena lost to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel and he has been teasing his WWE retirement since then.
The SAG-AFTRA strike in Hollywood is coming to an end, and so is Cena’s WWE run.
Here’s what PWInsider reported:

The 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion revealed during a recent press conference that he is working on some projects in Hollywood that he’ll have to return to once the strike ends.
Cena also took to Instagram today to post a photo which read “The End”.
John putting over Solo doesn’t come as a surprise, as he said the following during a recent interview on the After The Bell podcast:
“I just want to do what’s best for WWE.”
