Ricky Starks has been absent from AEW programming since late March, sparking speculation about a potential move to WWE, since Triple H is interested in signing him. However, it’s now confirmed that Starks won’t be released from his AEW contract.

Starks last appeared on TV on AEW Collision on March 30th in a tag team match, where he may have sustained an injury, though the exact reason for his absence remains unclear.

After a fan speculated about Starks potentially joining WWE (due to NXT moving to The CW Network and SmackDown rumored to move to 3 hours next year), WrestlePurists responded, “Ricky Starks is under AEW contract and will not be granted a release. I do not know why he keeps coming up in these conversations.”

This puts an end to the rumors, for now.
