• AEW Tag Team Superstar Credits Bret Hart For Him Wanting To Become A Pro-Wrestler

During a recent interview with the Elite POV video podcast, current AEW Tag Team Superstar Dax Harwood (fka Scott Dawson in WWE) was asked about what made him want to become a professional wrestler.

Here’s what the former multiple time Tag Team Champion (in WWE & AEW) had to say:

“I have always been a fan of professional wrestling since as long as I can remember.

For my birthday back on June 23, 1993, my mom bought me the King of the Ring pay-per-view and I remember just watching Bret Hart have these three spectacular matches and I remember as soon as it was over, where he defeated Bam Bam Bigelow, that’s when I decided and I told my mom, ‘I want to be a wrestler, that’s what I want to do’ and my mom is like, ‘Yeah, whatever’, but there was never another thought about what I wanted to do.

It went straight from ‘I want to be a Power Ranger’ to I wanted to be a wrestler and there was nothing else after that.”

A few months ago, Harwood’s AEW colleague CM Punk also praised The Hitman and even put Bret over Shawn Michaels in retrospective view.

Here’s what Punk said:

“I think Bret Hart is legit the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. His stuff holds up! I was a Shawn Michaels fan when I was a kid because he did flashy stuff, you know, he was cocky. But some of his stuff doesn’t hold up the way Bret’s does.

Bret’s (stuff) is timeless. You know, Bret is, you called it, the Excellence of Execution. He calls himself that, at the time, it was a cool nickname to me, but now I look back, and I realize, and man…everything he does is fundamentally sound. Like he didn’t misstep in the ring once.”
