On this day in 1999, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WCW Thunder’.

This episode was pre-taped at the Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and featured matches & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WCW Uncensored 1999’ PPV.

– Finn Balor says NXT UK Champion WALTER forced his hand and he will see him sooner than he thinks

– Chelsea Green def. Shotzi Blackheart to qualify for the Women’s Ladder Match at NXT TakeOver: Tampa

– Keith Lee talks about who his next challenger for his NXT North American Title is going to be. Cameron Grimes interrupts and gets a Title match for next week, and gets a big push out the ring by Lee

– Undisputed Era def. Danny Burch & Oney Lorcan (Bobby & Kyle claim the NXT Tag Team Titles are on the Loserweights. Pete Dunne & Matt Riddle come out and agree to give them a rematch, but then got attacked by Grizzled Young Veterans)

– Austin Theory def. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott

– Johnny Gargano says Tommaso Ciampa knows exactly why he attacked him and that he’ll see Ciampa next week

– Roderick Strong def. Velveteen Dream in a Steel Cage match by escaping through the door (Dream then locked himself in the Cage with Adam Cole and took him out. NXT ends with Dream posing with the NXT Championship)

– WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts made his AEW debut by interrupted Cody Rhodes’ promo and announced that his client is coming and he’s going to go after Cody

– PAC def. Chuck Taylor (PAC & Lucha Brothers form a new faction called “Death Triangle” and they take out Orange Cassidy and Best Friends)

– Jake Hager def. QT Marshall (Inner Circle attacks Dustin Rhodes and The Elite makes the save)

– MJF brags about his win over Cody Rhodes and says his next goal is to be the next #1 contender against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship

– Inner Circle attacks Jon Moxley before the main event match

– Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara def. Darby Allin in a Handicap match (Moxley tries to fight Inner Circle after the match, but gets taken out with a Triple Shield Powerbomb off the stage through a table)
