All Elite Wrestling will hold the WrestleDream pay-per-view at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington tonight to honor the late, great Antonio Inoki on his first death anniversary.
This will also be the first AEW pay-per-view to emanate from Seattle. AEW President Tony Khan has called it the beginning of a new era in his company.
AEW always has surprises, usually in the form of debuts, on their pay-per-view events and they could have 3 debuts on tonight’s show as well.
One of the names rumored to join AEW tonight is Mariah May. It has been rumored since August that AEW is interested in signing her.
She recently finished up with STARDOM in Japan and posted the following on Twitter:
“Today was my last match. Thank you everyone! I love Japan, I love STARDOM, I love everyone! Don’t forget about me! Club Venus is here! Mariah May was here! See you!”
In a video shared by the STARDOM Twitter account, she talked about her last match and said:
“It’s gonna be emotional, it’s gonna be sad. Then I have to get up at six a.m. to catch a flight.”
The interviewer asked her if she was going back to the UK, to which she replied:
“Maybe.”
Another name that could possibly show up in AEW tonight is Mercedes Moné (fka Sasha Banks in WWE), who has been rumored to work for AEW for a while, but has been out of action due to an ankle injury.
It’s unknown if she’s cleared yet, but there were reports after her appearance at All In that AEW is interested in working with her. There has been speculation about a possible feud between her and AEW Women’s World Champion Saraya.
The biggest debut rumored for tonight is of WWE Hall of Famer Edge. His contract with WWE expired yesterday, and it’s unknown if he has signed a new deal with them.
The Rated-R Superstar’s best friend Christian Cage will defend the TNT Championship in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match against Darby Allin in the main event tonight, so there has been speculation about Edge possibly showing up at the end of the show.
