AEW & WWE’s Tax Credits From Ohio Revealed

Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.

• Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Development have announced $36.7 million in state tax credits to support 17 theatrical, television, and film production projects in the state.

AEW is listed under the TV series category and is receiving a $1.275 million tax credit for a production set in Cleveland for the 2024-2025 period.

WWE also received a tax credit from Ohio back in February and it was $1.6 million. SummerSlam is scheduled to occur in Cleveland, Ohio on August 3rd.

AEW’s next show in Ohio will be in Dayton on September 12 and it will be an episode of Collision.

• Jesse “The Body” Ventura is backstage at tonight’s RAW in St. Paul, Minnesota. He met WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H. You can watch it below:

Ventura has had a complicated relationship with Vince McMahon over the years, but he recently mentioned that he’s been in talks with the company about a Legends deal. Ventura noted that these discussions could happen now that McMahon is no longer involved with the company.

Jesse last appeared on a WWE show in 2010, when he served as the RAW guest host. During that appearance, he and McMahon provided commentary for an 8-man Battle Royal, marking the first time they worked together at the announce table since Ventura left the WWF in 1990.
