• During an interview with Pro Wrestling Illustrated, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez was asked if she has had conversations with CM Punk regarding bringing AJ Lee back to WWE.
Here’s what Perez said:
“Definitely, yeah, I try to talk to him about that but he tells me that he’s doing the same thing. He’s trying to get her to come back, he’s pulling her in. I hope one day she decides to come back and have a match with me.”
AJ Lee retired from in-ring competition in 2015, after wrestling a 6-woman tag team match on RAW after WrestleMania 31.
In 2021, Punk told New York Post that he doesn’t want Lee to wrestle again due to her neck issues:
“I just want to say, no. Just because of her neck. The reason she stopped wrestling is because of her neck. She’s got a bad neck, you know. I wouldn’t want her to jeopardize her health and neither would she.”
