Below are a couple of top Hulk Hogan news stories of the day.
• “You lost me forever with your ‘don’t get caught’ apology speech” – AEW Star To Hulk Hogan
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are getting ready to launch their new project, Real American Freestyle Wrestling (RAF), with its first event scheduled for August 30. While promoting the new venture, Hogan spoke with TMZ Sports about what inspired the idea and what fans can expect.
Hogan said the team is leaning into live sports because “reality TV and the scripted stuff isn’t popping” the way it used to. He explained that RAF will focus on telling compelling backstories about the athletes, similar to how contestants are introduced on shows like The Voice.
The 2-time WWE Hall of Famer named a few wrestlers who helped shape his vision for RAF, pointing out how amateur athletes can succeed if they know how to promote themselves:
“I’ve been in the ring with some really crazy wrestlers. Like, I got Brock Lesnar right after he left the UFC. I got him first. I got Kurt Angle when his eyeballs used to roll back like a shark and he’d come after me. You know, Benjamin Shelton, all these different guys that I’ve had the opportunity to see adapt to our business. And I said, you know something, there’s something there with these amateur guys.”
Shelton Benjamin, who is the current AEW World Tag Team Champion, tweeted the following about Hogan dropping his name:
“Message to @HulkHogan. You lost me forever with your ‘don’t get caught’ … or as you would call it ‘apology’ speech. So rather than screw up my name and pretend we ever had any sort of camaraderie which we never had. Please do me a favor & (keep my name out of your f**king mouth).”

• Becky Lynch Rips Hulk Hogan After Fans Give Her “Becky Hogan” Nickname
In 2024, fans began calling Becky Lynch “Becky Hogan” after she won the Women’s World Championship. Fans once again used this nickname for her on social media after she took Bayley’s spot at WrestleMania 41.
On this week’s RAW Recap, Becky addressed this controversial nickname:
“I’m the bad guy? All I’ve done is be lovely to some people, a few people, like Lyra (Valkyria). Do you remember when… she didn’t beat me, but she won in NXT? She won the NXT Women’s Title.
She beats me, quick roll up, very quick roll up, it wasn’t a definitive win, beat me with a very quick roll up? Do you know what I did afterwards? Because I’m such a great person, I raised her hand. I raised her hand because I’m that kind of person.
What did she do tonight? She kicked me in the face, I’ve got a big lump here. My wonderful face by the way, that is already being scarred up, my nose doesn’t sit perfectly straight anymore, my shoulder is popping out, I’ve got scars on my arms.
All of this because of what I’ve given to this industry. I wear the scars of what I’ve done on my body. I wear them with pride because of all I’ve given back, and these people go around and they compare me to this scummy person?
After everything I’ve done for them, and I’m the bad guy? I’m supposed to sit here and take it? I’m supposed to go, ‘Oh, I’m sorry,’ even though I didn’t do anything wrong? I broke through glass ceilings, I changed the game.”
