• New Champion Crowned In WWE

On last night’s episode of WWE EVOLVE, Wendy Choo defeated Karmen Petrovic, Nikkita Lyons, Kali Armstrong, PJ Vasa, Laynie Luck, Tyra Mae Steele and Sloane Jacobs in an Eliminator Gauntlet match to win the EVOLVE Women’s Championship. Below is the video of her win:

The title was vacated by Kendal Grey in March after she held it for nearly five months. This was Wendy Choo’s first title win in WWE in her 7-year long career in the company.

• WWE Wrestler’s Injury Situation Has Worsened

Santos Escobar has suffered a significant setback following a recent injury. The WWE star tore his triceps during an NXT live event match against El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. over Royal Rumble weekend, which ultimately required surgery. The injury was noticeable during AAA’s Rey de Reyes event, where Escobar appeared to struggle in the ring.

It was previously reported that the former Cruiserweight Champion would be out of action for several months due to the severity of the injury.

Escobar took to X to provide an update, revealing that he has now encountered additional complication that will require another procedure.

“Hey familia, this is the emperor of Lucha Libre, Santos Escobar, with a quick update on WrestleMania week. As you probably already know, I went through tricep surgery. There was a minor hiccup on the road with my ulnar nerve, a nerve that runs through my arm. So I’m gonna have to go and do surgery again to repair that situation. Kills me not to be there with you this week, but to all of my WWE family, Happy WrestleMania week. Love you.”

The latest update means Escobar’s recovery timeline could now be extended, as he was previously expected to be sidelined until the summer before this additional setback.
