• Another Former World Champion Is A Free Agent Now

As we reported before, former Women’s World Champion Sasha Banks is officially a free agent and is free to make her rumored appearance in NJPW.

Another former World Champion (TNA & NWA) became a Free Agent on January 1st and is now free to explore his options in WWE & AEW – Nick Aldis.

For those who don’t know, Aldis had a falling out with NWA owner Billy Corgan.

Aldis posted a video on Instagram (which he later deleted), where he said that he gave his notice to NWA stating that he and Corgan can’t get past their differences and that the NWA has gotten so bad, it’s embarrassing and he no longer wishes to be a part of the promotion. He was then removed from NWA TV altogether.

Nick tweeted the following about this:

“Fans in NOLA: Sorry to disappoint but I was removed from the shows this weekend after giving my notice. I fully intended to fulfill my obligations to the audience but unfortunately the company doesn’t seem to share the same values.”

Corgan recently said the following in an interview:

“There are great women’s wrestlers. Can they wrestle NWA style and carry a PPV?”

Aldis (who is married to Mickie James) tweeted the following about these comments:

“If some of you are wondering whether stuff like this factored into my decision to give my notice you’d be correct.”

After NWA Hard Times 3 PPV ended (where Tyrus / Brodus Clay won the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship), Aldis issued the following statement:

“I hope now you see why it was important to me to let you know that I had given my notice to the NWA BEFORE this PPV.

What was once a promising endeavour that I turned down bigger opportunities to take the lead on, has become the most toxic brand in pro wrestling.

Thank you all for the support.”

Aldis also said in an interview that his loyalty to NWA cost him an opportunity in All Elite Wrestling.
