On this day in 1997, the World Wrestling Federation aired another episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF RAW IS WAR’.
It was broadcasted from the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York and featured matches, interviews & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF Royal Rumble 1998’ PPV.

• Attitude Era Star Returning For A Match Next Month
Old School WWF Attitude Era Veteran & UFC Hall Of Famer Ken Shamrock will be returning for a match on January 31, 2019 at the Ultimate Bar Brawl event in Atlanta.
His opponent will be “Filthy” Tom Lawlor (who is a former UFC fighter as well).
Shamrock returned to Pro-Wrestling after being gone for almost a decade in November 2018 at a Battle Championship Wrestling event in Australia. He defeated Gabriel Wolfe in that match. Shamrock then went on to win the BCW Tag Team Titles with Carlo Cannon.
Speaking of Shamrock, he appeared on The Delz Show last year and said that he wants to win the Heavyweight Title in WWE:
“I will say this – there’s a couple of things that I want to do before I actually retire. I’ve done everything in the world when it comes to MMA. I’ve done everything in all these other organizations.
In the WWF or WWE as they call now, the one thing that I have not was able to capture was that Heavyweight belt. And I’m telling you, I want a chance to be able to go after that belt, but only if either Brock Lesnar has it or The Rock has it or Kurt Angle has it.
Either one of those three I want. I want the Ankle match with Kurt Angle or I want Brock to see who is the best from MMA or Pro Wrestling…of course it’ll be me. And The Rock because he ran away from me.”
