Below are some top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.

• Rey Fenix’s recent tweets hinting at mistreatment and denied medical care by AEW have sparked significant discussion in the wrestling world.

While AEW declined to comment on his claims, citing restrictions on addressing medical issues, internal sources expressed surprise at his allegations, particularly about being silenced. Some noted communication challenges, but no one described the treatment as ‘inhumane’.

According to Fightful Select, one source indicated Fenix had previously clashed with a doctor over being medically cleared to compete. Creative plans for Fenix, Penta El Zero Miedo, and Pac to win the AEW World Trios Championships at All In were reportedly altered due to Fenix’s injury and speculation of WWE interest.

Fenix’s contract has been extended into 2025 due to injury provisions, while Penta is now a free agent, drawing WWE’s attention to both wrestlers.

• Mr. Kennedy reflected on his departure from the company and addressed allegations of John Cena and Randy Orton’s involvement.

Speaking on Ten Count Media, Kennedy stated he wasn’t sure if Cena or Orton politicized against him but emphasized that it no longer matters to him.

He admitted he bore responsibility for his release, acknowledging that his actions contributed to WWE management, including Vince McMahon, potentially taking complaints about him seriously.

Kennedy expressed regret over past mistakes, including not contesting WWE’s decision to transfer his Money In The Bank briefcase to Edge. However, he views his missteps as valuable lessons and uses them to mentor aspiring wrestlers, offering advice on avoiding similar errors. While recognizing that many learn through personal experience, Kennedy hopes his insights will help others make better choices.

Here’s what the former 2-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion said:

“To be honest with you, I have no idea. I don’t know if any of that’s true. It doesn’t really matter to me. Even if that was true, it’s just part of my history. I can either complain about it and whine about it, or I can just move forward.

Of course, ultimately, I am the one responsible for getting myself fired. Even if those guys did some behind-the-scenes talking or whatever, I was in enough of a situation where Vince would listen to that. If that was, in fact, the case—if that was the straw that broke the camel’s back—I still didn’t do myself any favors while I was there.

I’ll tell you what, though. That’s one thing I can give to my students. I’ve been training people now for the last 4 or 5 years, and I’m able to take the mistakes I made in the ring and politically in the business and say, ‘Hey guys, don’t do this.’

I know it’s like every parent always says stuff like that to their kids, and the kids don’t listen—like, ‘Don’t touch the stove; it’s hot.’ And then the kid has to touch the stove because it’s hot. But maybe, just maybe, someone along the way will listen to me.”
