Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring NXT, Dynamite and WarGames.
• WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite went head-to-head last Wednesday, and NXT ended up drawing more viewers.
NXT at the 2300 Arena (fka the ECW Arena) drew 619,000 viewers with a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is up from last week’s 588,000 viewers with a 0.14 rating.
Dynamite drew 523,000 viewers with a 0.16 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is down from previous week’s 628,000 viewers with a 0.19 rating.
When asked about the backstage AEW reaction to this, Fightful Select reported that All Elite Wrestling is prioritizing Warner Bros. Discovery’s satisfaction with their content over directly competing with WWE.
In contrast, WWE places greater emphasis on tracking their own numbers and media comparisons, including fast national ratings. While WWE closely monitors metrics and comparisons, AEW’s main focus is on fulfilling the expectations set by their TV partner.
