• Wrestling Veteran Celebrates His Birthday

Old School Wrestling Veteran Shark Boy (Real name: Dean Roll) celebrates his 45th birthday today.

After being trained by NWA Veteran Les Thatcher and touring the indies for a while, he signed a contract with Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1999, but wrestled mostly on the promotion’s C-show ‘WCW Saturday Night’ & D-show ‘WCW Worldwide’, before they let him go in march 2000.

Shark Boy actually made a name for himself in Total Nonstop Action, where he wrestled as a regular member of the main roster from 2002 till 2010 and then became a part-timer who still appeared on TV or PPV from time to time.

TNA (now renamed iMPACT Wrestling) still brings him back every now and then for a special surprise appearance.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHARK BOY!

• Backstage Heat On Matt Riddle After Royal Rumble 2020

As we noted before, ProWrestlingSheet reported that WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and NXT wrestler Matt Riddle were involved in a backstage confrontation at Royal Rumble 2020 pay-per-view:

“Details are scarce at this time, but sources tell us Lesnar and Riddle passed each other while walking backstage and a tense encounter ensued.

One source says Brock saw Matt and wanted him to know the reality of the situation between them.”

Fightful then noted that Lesnar just wanted to tell Riddle that “he’s not the one to f*ck with”:

“One person noted that Lesnar was the ‘wrong one to fuck with,’ and that Lesnar simply communicated his issues, saying ‘he was spoken to by Brock and he understood’.”

For those who don’t know, Riddle has said in multiple interviews that he wants to retire Lesnar.

In an update to this, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that there’s a lot of backstage heat on Riddle:

“I don’t wanna say that he doesn’t get it, because he may get it. Whatever it is there’s a lot of heat on Matt Riddle right now.

You can look at it like he’s got potential and they shouldn’t squander it and he’s not the first guy and he’s not gonna be the last in that situation where Vince sees it differently and it’s not like it’s the kiss of death, but right now…on NXT I guess you could not push him at all, but that would be stupid because NXT is battling [with AEW] and things like that.

Yeah, he ain’t in the forefront and there’s a reason why he was in and out so quick [in the Royal Rumble]. It was more than just getting heat for Baron Corbin which is what the outcome was, but the idea was that yeah, whatever it is.

I’m not there I can’t speak for his attitude. I can only speak about his performance. His performance is really good.

I haven’t heard anything negative about his attitude, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there and he hasn’t rubbed someone the wrong way or whatever he’s done, but I don’t know what it would be, but that’s the case.”
