• Backstage Heat On Mercedes Mone / Sasha Banks In NJPW?
Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks in WWE) made her debut in New Japan Pro Wrestling at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
She will now face Kairi Sane for the IWGP Women’s Championship at Battle In The Valley, which is sold out.
According to the Wrestling Observer, there’s some heat on Mercedes about the fact that she’s not promoting her new promotion enough and is promoting wrestlers outside of the promotion instead:
“There were people talking because of the belief Mone has been promoting Sendai Girls and Tokyo Joshi Pro more than Stardom and the IWGP Women’s Title.
She posted photos from the Sendai Girls dojo saying she wanted to wrestle women that work for that promotion and Tokyo Joshi Pro.
The feeling is that now that she’s with Bushiroad, she (should) be only promoting Bushiroad companies in Japan.”

On this day in 2020, we lost Old School WWF Legend “Soul Man” Rocky Johnson at the age of 75.
Rocky Johnson wrestled for many different territories from his debut in 1964 until his retirement in 1991, but was most famous for his 1982-1985 run with the World Wrestling Federation, where he and Tony Atlas became the first black Tag Team to win a major World Tag Team Championship.
Nowadays everyone knew him as the father of the #1 actor in Hollywood, fellow WWF Legend “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson.
It was also The Rock, who inducted his dad into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
