Backstage News On Backup Plan For WrestleMania 37 Main Event

Roman Reigns vs The Rock - WWE WrestleMania 37

• Backstage News On Backup Plan For WrestleMania 37 Main Event

As we have noted before, WWE wants to do Roman Reigns vs. The Rock in the main event of WrestleMania 37 to find out who’s the real “Tribal Chief” in the Samoan Dynasty.

According to Wrestletalk, if WWE can’t secure The Rock for a match at next year’s WrestleMania, then WWE officials have two opponents in mind for Reigns.

One is current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and the other one is WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg.

We exclusively reported prior to Survivor Series that WWE officials are discussing a potential WrestleMania 37 main event bout between Reigns and McIntyre, and since Reigns defeated McIntyre in an unclean way in the main event of Survivor Series, there’s a big chance WWE would want to revisit this rivalry, especially given the fact that their Survivor Series match impressed a lot of people backstage in WWE and the fans as well. McIntyre also noted after Survivor Series that he isn’t done with the current Universal Champion.

Reigns facing Goldberg also makes sense, since this was the official Universal Championship match for WrestleMania 36, before Reigns pulled out of the show and it got changed to Goldberg vs. Braun Strowman. Goldberg is currently on a two match per year deal with WWE.
