Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Baron Corbin and MVP.

• On Friday, it was announced that Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell and Tegan Nox are done with WWE.

Indi and Tegan got released, while Corbin was informed that his contract is about to expire and they won’t re-sign him.

Corbin tweeted the following about his departure:

“That’s all she wrote folks. It’s been real and I appreciate everyone who supported me.”

A fan commented the following:

“WWE fumbled the bag letting you go.”

Corbin replied:

“I appreciate that and feel the same.”

On October 27, just a few days before his departure, Corbin participated in a WWE Netflix commercial and video shoot. Fightful Select noted that he worked alongside stars like IYO SKY, Kairi Sane, Motor City Machine Guns, Elektra Lopez, and members of the LWO for the project.

The timing of this appearance has sparked speculation that WWE may not have finalized his departure far in advance, as he obviously won’t be a part of RAW on Netflix in 2025.

• MVP’s entry into AEW has garnered respect, not only for his in-ring and managerial talent, but also for how he addressed past conflicts with Chris Jericho.

Fightful Select reported that MVP directly tackled his history with Jericho upon joining AEW, a move that earned high praise within the company. Instead of sidestepping their previous issues, MVP approached Jericho’s locker room to clear the air, setting a positive tone for his time in AEW.

The tension between them stemmed from a public disagreement in 2022, following an altercation at a hotel after an AEW Dynamite taping, fueled by personal and political differences. MVP’s direct approach to resolve the issue quickly gained him respect from AEW talent.

Fightful noted, “MVP gained a lot of praise and even more respect for how he handled his previous issues with Chris Jericho,” mentioning that he “didn’t make a big deal out of it,” effectively closing that chapter.

Similarly, Shelton Benjamin’s arrival has been warmly welcomed. Benjamin’s potential addition to AEW had been in discussions for a while, with many excited to work with the veteran wrestler. His experience enhances AEW’s roster, adding to the leadership and depth that MVP has already contributed.

“Shelton Benjamin has long been discussed as someone pushed to come into the company and many people there had already worked with him.”
