Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving Becky Lynch and Britt Baker.

• Fans haven’t seen Becky Lynch in WWE since May 27, when she lost to Liv Morgan on RAW. Her contract expired on June 1, making her a free agent. On August 4, Lynch posted on Instagram about her “helluva career” and the honor of being The Man, sparking speculation about her potential retirement.

Fightful Select reports that WWE sources haven’t been informed of any official retirement from Lynch and don’t believe she would announce it on social media. However, one source mentioned that, to their knowledge, Lynch is not under contract with WWE and could retire without notifying the company.

WWE sources noted that Lynch is enjoying her time off, and they are respecting her privacy. They emphasized that Lynch is always welcome back. Lynch had planned to take a break when her contract ended, and both sides believe she will return when the time feels right.

During the Money In The Bank pre-show back in July, Seth Rollins said the following about his wife’s status:

“The Man is great. She’s great. I can’t speak to her future or what she’s got moving forward, but she’s great, she’s in good spirits, and the little one’s awesome as well. She’s three-and-a-half, and she’s a menace. She runs the ship.”

• PWInsider reports that former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker has been cast in the final season of Netflix’s “Cobra Kai”. Baker will play a European fighter participating in an international karate tournament.

Martin Kove, a star of Cobra Kai, has previously appeared on AEW programming. He was on the February 16, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he gave Britt some advice.

After being sidelined for several months, Baker made her return at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door and has been feuding with TBS Women’s Champion Mercedes Moné.

Last week, Mone announced that Baker was suspended for tormenting her, though the suspension was reportedly due to a backstage incident with MJF. Baker is set to challenge Moné for the title at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.
