Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving an update on Bron Breakker.
• On this week’s episode of NXT, Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin defeated Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo to win the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Breakker’s main roster call-up was speculated to be delayed due to his NXT Tag Team Title win and potential creative changes. However, that’s not the case.
PWInsider reports that the 26-year-old is still scheduled to work Friday’s double SmackDown tapings in Salt Lake City. It’s unclear what Breakker’s role will be or if Corbin will accompany him.
The February 16th episode will be live as usual. After that goes off the air, WWE will tape the February 23rd episode due to the crew traveling to Australia in the next week for Elimination Chamber.
Breakker appeared on last week’s SmackDown and asked Triple H for advice regarding which brand he should join – RAW or SmackDown.
• Jennifer Pepperman, a Senior Writer and Producer for WWE, has left the company, according to PWInsider. She made the decision to depart, rather than being released.
Pepperman had been with WWE since April 2017, bringing with her experience from working on soap operas like One Life To Live and As the World Turns.
RAW General Manager Adam Pearce tweeted the following about Pepperman’s departure:
“Shout out to @JenPepperman. I have always appreciated your creativity, passion, and the countless time you’ve given to help me and others backstage over the years. I’ll miss your energy, but I know you’ll be great wherever you may roam. My gratitude forever!!!”
