• Backstage News On Byron Saxton Calling Asuka vs. Nia Jax ‘WrestleMania Main Event Worthy’ On RAW, Fan Upset Over Pronunciation Of Mustafa Ali’s Name
On this week’s episode of RAW, RAW Women’s Champion Asuka squared off against Women’s Tag Team Champion Nia Jax. Asuka won the match via disqualification after Shayna Baszler attacked her.
During the match, Byron Saxton described the encounter as a ‘WrestleMania Main Event Worthy’ bout.
Fightful Select is reporting that this was a scripted line, and Saxton was told to say it by the officials backstage.
On the other hand, Tom Phillips shared his response to a fan on Twitter who lashed out at him for how he pronounces Mustafa Ali’s name.

Fan: Hey [blacked out]… How do you not understand that Mustafa Ali is pronounced: MOO STAH FUH… NOT [blacked out] Must Uff uh… GET IT [blacked out] RIGHT. You sound like a [blacked out] saying it wrong !!!!!!!!!!!!
Tom: Hi [name removed], I understand your issue regarding the pronunciation. However, Mustafa has recently stated on RAW the correct way that his first name is pronounced. I am simply respecting that wish, as I would for anyone asking for their name to be pronounced the way they would like. I will continue to do so. Thank you for being a fan of WWE.”

Phillips was told by Ali on a segment of RAW Talk a week ago to pronounce his name in this manner.
