Former WWE Champion CM Punk has signed a deal with FOX to work the WWE Backstage show on FS1.

According to PWInsider, the deal between the two sides was finalized a few days back. Also, FOX received WWE’s blessings regarding Punk’s return, which means WWE officials have no heat with FOX officials regarding bringing in Punk.

Also, Renee Young was the only person on WWE Backstage who knew about Punk’s surprise return:

“The decision to bring Punk on was 100% a FOX call, but we are told that WWE gave the return their personal blessing.

Punk’s return on WWE Backstage was kept a secret from everyone on camera with the exception of Renee Young as a way to prevent the return from leaking.”
