Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring LA Knight, Drew McIntyre, and Carlito.
• SmackDown featured a tense exchange between Drew McIntyre and LA Knight. McIntyre won a Men’s Elimination Chamber qualifying match against LA Knight and Jimmy Uso. However, McIntyre and Knight appeared to get overly physical, particularly during a moment when they started slapping each other.
Some tension between them is due to what happened in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble. McIntyre was supposed to be eliminated by Damian Priest before Logan Paul’s entrance, but the timing was off. McIntyre was reportedly frustrated and attributed the delay to Knight “getting his stuff in” too late.
Ahead of their match on SmackDown, Knight addressed the situation in a promo, making cryptic remarks about crying and joking about getting his “stuff” in. At first, the meaning was unclear, but McIntyre’s reaction suggested he caught the reference. It is now believed Knight was subtly taking shots at McIntyre over the Royal Rumble incident.
Despite their intense in-ring exchange, Fightful Select reports that there are no lingering issues between them, and they can still work together without concerns. McIntyre is also reportedly not upset about Knight’s promo, though one source admitted the situation wasn’t “ideal”.

• During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, RAW Superstar & Judgment Day member Carlito revealed that he’s been dealing with injuries, which is why he hasn’t wrestled a match since November 2024.
Here’s what the former United States Champion said:
“For a little bit, yeah I can continue wrestling. I still feel like I have a little bit left in the tank. I think I got a few more years in me. Not many, but a few. Wrestling into my 50s? Probably not gonna happen. No. Probably not. Mentally, I think. But my body’s probably not going to take it.
Not having to wrestle every week has helped me out a lot. I’ve been dealing with some injuries so not bumping has helped. But, yeah, like I said, there’s still a little bit left in the tank.”
