• Backstage News On Plan For Edge Ahead Of WrestleMania 39
At Extreme Rules 2022, Edge lost to Finn Balor in an “I Quit” match, after The Judgment Day threatened to attack his wife, fellow WWE Hall Of Famer Beth Phoenix.
Despite saying “I Quit” to lose the match, Rhea Ripley went on to attack Beth with a Steel Chair.
After this, “Brood” Edge vs. “The Demon King” Finn Balor inside Hell in a Cell was planned for Royal Rumble 2023, but that didn’t happen.
Instead of that, both Edge and Balor entered the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
Edge was busy filming Disney+ series ‘Percy Jackson and The Olympian’, where he will play ‘The Greek God of War’ Ares, and couldn’t appear on TV before the Rumble to build up to the Hell in a Cell match, which resulted in the match being nixed.
At Elimination Chamber 2023, Edge & Beth defeated Finn & Rhea. Two nights later on RAW, Finn cost Edge his US Title match against Austin Theory, by kicking him in the head.
After the match, Finn hit Edge with his finisher 3 times.
The planned Hell in a Cell match between Edge & Finn is scheduled to take place at WrestleMania 39 now.
According to Xero News, this big gimmick match is currently slated to take place on Night 2, aka WrestleMania Sunday (April 2nd).
In an update, The Wrestling Blog is reporting that Edge’s feud with Judgment Day will end at the Show of Shows:
“According to a report I received, Edge and Balor are working closely with Creative Team regarding their WrestleMania match, and the promos for the next couple of weeks. According to the same report, this will be the final match between Edge and any Judgement Day member as of today.”
