Below are a couple of top AEW & ROH news stories of the day:
• Mercedes Mone’s (fka Sasha Banks) appearance at AEW All In fueled speculation about her potential move to All Elite Wrestling, especially after WWE removed her from their TV intro video package.
However, her official debut with AEW might be delayed due to her ongoing recovery from an ankle injury suffered in May at NJPW STRONG Resurgence.
Despite not wrestling at All In due to the injury (where she was scheduled to make her official debut), the Wrestling Observer reports that the relationship between Mone and AEW is positive, and she is open to working with the promotion. AEW is holding off on her debut until she fully recovers.
Kris Statlander has expressed the AEW women’s locker room’s eagerness to face Mone, indicating anticipation for her future matches in the company.
• Along with Dynamite, AEW taped an episode of ROH as well last night.
During this TV taping in Chicago, Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal won a tag team match against Griff Garrison and Cole Karter. However, the victory took an unexpected turn when Sydal’s move caused Karter to potentially suffer a concussion, according to PWInsider.
Ringside doctor Doc Sampson assessed Karter’s condition, leading to the match being concluded abruptly. Afterward, Daniels acknowledged the situation, emphasizing the dangers of the sport and expressing concern for Karter’s well-being, stating that it’s a dangerous sport, and while they wanted to win, they didn’t want to win that way.
Karter reportedly took a while to leave the ring, and the incident was described as an “apparent concussion”.
