Below are a couple of top news stories of the day, featuring Shinsuke Nakamura, Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

• Shinsuke Nakamura returned on Friday’s SmackDown and attacked United States Champion LA Knight.

Fightful Select reports that Nakamura’s comeback had been in the works for several weeks. Although he wasn’t included in internal rundowns, he was featured in the script for the show.

During the episode, Legado Del Fantasma confronted LA Knight, challenging him for the United States Championship. Santos Escobar’s ambitions led to a match between Knight and Legado member Berto. After a hard-fought battle, Knight emerged victorious. However, his celebration was short-lived when Nakamura appeared, clad in all black, and launched a surprise attack on Knight, leaving him incapacitated.

This marked Nakamura’s first TV appearance in almost 7 months. His last house show match occurred on October 16 in Manchester, England, where he lost to LA in a United States Championship match.

It should be noted that Corey Graves referred to Nakamura as a “Wayward Samurai” on SmackDown.

• Netflix scored a major win with the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul boxing event, announcing that a staggering 60 million households worldwide tuned in to watch the spectacle.

The fight between the 58-year-old boxing legend and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul wasn’t just a boxing match — it was a global phenomenon.

However, the night wasn’t without its setbacks. Fans on social media were quick to call out Netflix for streaming issues, with buffering problems leading to widespread frustration. Memes flooded platforms like X and Instagram, with one user quipping, “Fix your antenna, Netflix,” while others speculated the platform wasn’t prepared for the massive audience surge.

The co-main event between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano also delivered huge numbers, drawing 50 million households to watch their thrilling bout. Taylor secured a narrow decision win over Serrano, adding even more energy to the evening.

Jake Paul ultimately earned a clear decision victory over Tyson, who showed glimpses of his legendary aggression but couldn’t match Paul’s pace. While Tyson didn’t get the win, his ability to draw millions of viewers and command respect was undeniable.
