As seen in the main event segment of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes said he’s coming for Roman Reigns and the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but not at WrestleMania 40.
The American Nightmare then basically gave his WrestleMania 40 main event spot against Roman to The Rock.
The Great One has finally broken silence and posted the following about this segment:
“There’s a word for this explosive, insane reaction – undeniable.
No matter the era, the decade, or the city, the energy and connection between the People’s Champ and the People can never be broken and is truly an electrifying experience that creates chills every single time.
Thank you Birmingham, Alabama, we made magical history in the ‘magic city’.
Thank you WWE and thank you Cody for the love and the house (dream & soulman).
Roman, there’s only one head of the table. I’ll see you in Vegas… Uso.”
In an update on this situation, PWInsider is reporting that WWE Officials are monitoring this situation and the negative response on Social Media to The Rock replacing Cody Rhodes, so there’s a chance that WWE might change plans as nothing is officially announced so far.
The official announcement will be made at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff media event this Thursday in Las Vegas.
