As seen on last night’s SmackDown, AJ Styles advanced to the Finals of the World Heavyweight Championship tournament.
First, he defeated WWE Hall of Famers Edge and Rey Mysterio in a Triple Threat Match (where he pinned Edge). Later in the main event, he defeated Bobby Lashley.
Styles will now face Seth Rollins at Night of Champions, with the winner being crowned the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Insider source BoozerRasslin reported the following about Triple H’s plan for the World Title:
“There are big plans for the new World Heavyweight Championship. It will have a story that will catapult the title to its original status.”
On next week’s SmackDown, Styles will get interviewed on The Grayson Waller Effect.
