Backstage News On The Rock’s Sudden Return

WWE announced that The Rock will return on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Here’s what The Final Boss posted:

“Bold and disruptive. Unpredictable and dangerous. The Final Boss returns, LIVE on SmackDown at 8ET/7CT on USA Network.”

Triple H said the following in the press release:

“Strap in. When The Final Boss shows up at this time of year, the audience knows absolutely anything is possible. Everything could change in an instant.”

The Rock later commented the following:

“The Final Boss is coming to handle business, deliver a big beautiful gift to the city of New Orleans and f**k up a certain someone’s life with the Final Boss gospel.”

According to WrestleVotes, one of the things that The Rock will do on tonight’s show is announce the location for WrestleMania 42:

“All signs out of ‘The Big Easy’ this morning point to The Rock officially announcing that WrestleMania 42 is coming to New Orleans next year.”

PWInsider reported the following backstage news regarding The Rock’s appearance:

“The involvement of The Rock for SmackDown tonight was literally something that happened last night, and internally the company shifted plans to pivot towards his appearance.”

According to WrestleVotes, WWE will hold a press conference at 11 PM EST after SmackDown.

– WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest & Braun Strowman vs. Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga

– #DIY (c) vs. Pretty Deadly for the WWE Tag Team Championship

– Drew McIntyre vs. Jimmy Uso

– WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton vs. Candice LeRae
