• Backstage News On Tonga Loa & JC Mateo’s WWE Departures
WWE has seen several notable exits recently, but not all of these wrestlers left for the same reasons. As previously reported, the WWE departures of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods was a mutual decision between them and the company because they didn’t like what TKO was offering in new restructured deals.
However, the situation is different for Tonga Loa and JC Mateo of The MFTs. A new report from PWInsider confirms that their exits were actually part of the company’s recent roster cuts, meaning they were officially released.
It is a bit of a surprise considering how active both men were on TV right up until the end. JC Mateo had a match for the Tag Team Titles just after WrestleMania 42, where he and Tama Tonga lost to Damian Priest and R-Truth. Tonga Loa was also a regular on TV, recently teaming up with Mateo and Solo Sikoa.
The last time fans saw Mateo and Loa was on the April 24 episode of SmackDown, where they were attacked by Jacob Fatu.
Solo Sikoa, who is the leader of The MFTs, posted a photo with Loa and Mateo, and wrote: “Family forever.”

• Big Change Made To Roman Reigns’ WWE Schedule
World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns is no longer being promoted for several upcoming episodes of RAW, despite previously being listed for those shows.
WWE has updated its event listings, and Reigns’ name has been removed from the June 1 show in Turin, June 8 in Paris, June 15 in Baltimore, and June 22 in London. He is still being advertised for all RAW episodes through May, but not for those June dates anymore.
The change stands out because Reigns said after WrestleMania 42 that he planned to stay active during the summer as a full-timer.
As of now, there’s been no change to his next match, as he is still scheduled to defend the World Title against Jacob Fatu at Backlash on May 9.
The OTC is also advertised to work the Night of Champions PLE in Saudi Arabia on June 27.
