Nia Jax returned to WWE in the main event of tonight’s RAW and attacked Raquel Rodriguez, which helped Rhea Ripley in putting Raquel away to retain the Women’s World Championship.
After the match, Nia hit Rhea with a head butt, leg drop and a Banzai Drop to end the show.
According to Fightful Select, Nia was the first signing Vince McMahon made after returning as The Chairman earlier this year, and she got signed a month ago, thus ending WWE’s talent hiring freeze:
“We’d heard she was headed back to the company, and we’re told she’s been signed over a month ago, and that the hiring freeze effectively was ended this summer.
She’s the first signing that was made since Vince McMahon forced his way back into the company that returned on Main Roster TV.
The Endeavor – WWE merger is happening this week, but we’re told it’s unrelated to her popping up on TV. Several within the company actually thought she’d return before this.”
Nia Jax was originally released from WWE on November 4th 2021. She ended up making a return during the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match, but that was only a one-night thing.
