LA Knight main evented his first ever WWE PPV / PLE this past Saturday. He faced Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of the Crown Jewel 2023 premium live event and lost.
Knight is the hottest babyface in WWE right now, with him recently beating The Tribal Chief to become the #1 merch seller in the company.
On his podcast, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T said he’s heard Knight has a bad attitude, but noted that it doesn’t matter as long as the boss likes what he’s doing.
Below is what the WCW Legend said:
“I’ve heard guys say, ‘LA Knight, he’s got a bad attitude. I don’t know about this guy, he’s got a bad attitude’. My thing is this, I’ve never really cared about getting heat with the boys as long as the boss liked everything that was going on. If the boss liked it, I was cool.
For him to make it to that main event slot at that show, it just tells me he’s doing the right things, don’t sway from the mission.
It’s not about your wrestling, I’ve said that many, many times, even though he goes out and he does a good job in the middle of the ring. It’s about his performance.”
Insider source BWE then shut down these rumors and noted that LA is loved backstage in WWE:
“Let’s shut this down. He’s absolutely loved. And very self focused.”
BWE also noted that LA is “driven”, which is why he might have heat with some, but is still loved by the majority.
Fightful Select later added the following about the “bad attitude” story:
“I was told it was about some disagreement about how much merch was brought to some of the overseas shows, because not a lot was brought over. I was told that was it, and that’s what led to that particular story.”
