In a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant against Vince McMahon and WWE in January, Brock Lesnar was indirectly implicated. The suit claims that McMahon allegedly involved Grant in a $exual context to secure “a world-famous athlete and former UFC Heavyweight Champion” that WWE was attempting to sign to a new deal.
Following the public revelation of the lawsuit, Lesnar’s involvement in creative plans was reportedly minimized, and mentions of him in WWE content were reduced or removed.
During an interview with The Daily Mail, Triple H was asked about Lesnar’s return status. WWE’s Chief Content Officer said Brock’s return depends on one thing – The Beast’s own mood:
“You’d have to ask Brock Lesnar that. Brock kind of does his own thing. He’s up in Canada, I’m sure, watching his kids play hockey and enjoying life. If and when he decides he would like to do something, we’d be open to the conversation. We’ll see.”
While HHH said Brock’s return depends on Brock, in reality, it depends on WWE’s legal team. Here’s what the Wrestling Observer reported:
“If Brock calls them and says ‘I want to come back for WrestleMania this year,’ it’s up to the lawyers. They have advised [WWE] to keep their distance from Brock right now due to the ongoing legal issues.
This situation could change, and they might determine that enough time has passed for them to consider bringing him back. It’s not as simple as deciding to bring Brock back; it’s all about the legal circumstances.
If Brock returns, it’s because the lawyers have given their approval, and if he doesn’t, it’s because they haven’t.”
In an update from the Observer, Triple H has had internal discussions in WWE regarding bringing Brock back, if possible from a legal standpoint, at Royal Rumble 2025 at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 1st.
It’s been over a year since we’ve seen Lesnar on WWE programming. He was last seen at SummerSlam 2023, where he lost to Cody Rhodes.
