Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring AJ Styles and WrestleMania 41.
• AJ Styles’ future in WWE appears uncertain, with reports indicating the promotion may turn this situation into a storyline.
Recent updates suggest that the former WWE Champion’s current contract is nearing its end. According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE plans to incorporate real-life questions about Styles’ future into a potential “farewell tour” storyline.
Reportedly, Styles was set to start a storyline hinting at either his departure from WWE or possible retirement. Despite a recent injury, this plan remains in place unless MRI results reveal severe damage.
Styles’ current WWE contract is expected to expire in late 2024 or early 2025, and it’s unclear whether he will re-sign.

• WrestleVotes reported a few weeks back that Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Championship is the currently planned main event of WrestleMania 41 – Night 2.
During an interview with Dayna Roselli on Vegas Revealed, Cody was asked about this Triple Threat Match rumor and here’s what The American Nightmare said:
“There are so many rumors circulating. It eats up the social feed, all the different rumors of what the matches might be. The hardest thing to do in WWE, sports entertainment, and pro wrestling in general is not to win [the WWE Championship], the hardest thing to do is main event WrestleMania.
I don’t care what the rumor is, as long as the rumor is I’m in the main event of WrestleMania. I’m good with it.
What I can say for those who keep an eye on the rumor, I bet you what they get at WrestleMania 41 is unexpected even to them… this one is going to be unexpected, is the best way to put it, but in the best of ways.”
