Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Bobby Lashley and The Undertaker.

• Bobby Lashley and MVP are expected to leave WWE to reunite The Hurt Business with Shelton Benjamin in AEW. However, Cedric Alexander remains under contract with WWE and is currently working in NXT. Challenges may arise in using The Hurt Business name, as WWE owns its trademark rights.

MVP’s deal is up in mid-August, with no new deal being offered by WWE. Lashley received an offer from WWE, but it wasn’t enticing enough for him to immediately accept. The exact end date of his contract is still unclear.

According to PWInsider, WWE discussed some new roles for MVP at one point, but nothing came out of it:

“There had been some talk about potentially using him as a Producer or announcer, but nothing ever really came about in either role, although we are told there was some sort of tryouts at some point. WWE still has MVP listed under the miscellaneous section of their internal talent list.”

Lashley’s last match took place in May at a Live Event, where he defeated Santos Escobar.

• On his “Six Feet Under” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker addressed a long-standing rumor that he’s banned from Vermont. Co-host Matt Lyda read a listener’s question about the rumor, which Taker humorously referred to as “the great pancake caper”.

Here’s what The Phenom said:

“I’ve never heard that in my life (about being) banned from Vermont. I’m not banned from Vermont. I don’t live anywhere close to Vermont. I don’t go to Vermont.

I’m not banned… they can’t ban me from a state. I have done many things that are stupid, but you can’t ban somebody from a state.”
